JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Adventure Landing is opening Saturday for its 30th anniversary with its future up in the air.
It’s possible the water park could be closing at the end of September, but the outlook is optimistic.
Windy Leaptrott, the assistant general manager said Adventure Landing has been given eight extensions to stay open and they’re going all in for this six-month season.
“We have been fortunate to successfully extend our lease many times already, which I think speaks volumes about the value that we bring to the Jacksonville Beach community,” Leaptrott said. “Rather than focus on uncertainties, we’ve concentrated on what matters the most, which is continuing to deliver exceptional experiences for our families.”
Hank Woodburn, the owner, said he hasn’t heard any definitive plans from the development group yet. He also said they discussed relocating to Duval, Clay or St. Johns counties. His focus now is to stay put.
“We have not heard anything and we are currently planning our 31st year,” Woodburn said.
The part will be open from 12 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Daily admission passes are $30 and a season pass is $125.
There will be a DJ, entertainment, prizes and giveaways to celebrate the park’s 30th anniversary.
