LAKE OKEECHOBEE DISCHARGES TO THE SAINT LUCIE RIVER WILL STOP TODAY. THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS SAYS NEARLY 84 BILLION GALLONS OF WATER HAVE FLOWN SINCE THE DISCHARGES BEGAN THREE MONTHS AGO. U.S. ARMY CORPS SAYS THEIR GOAL I TO LOWER LAKE OKEECHOBEE WATER LEVELS BEFORE THE WET SEASON TO ALLOW FOR THE RECOVERY OF THE LAKE’S ECOSYSTEM. WELL, THERE ARE SOME ROAD CLOSURES TO KNOW ABOUT STARTING ON MONDAY IN WEST PALM, THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION APPROVING A PERMIT FOR A PARTIAL LANE CLOSURE ON SOUTH FLAGLER DRIVE BETWEEN OKEECHOBEE BOULEVARD AND LAKEVIEW AVENUE. THIS WILL LAST UNTIL APRIL 11TH BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION WORK ON THE MEDIAN. THIS MAY ALSO IMPACT BRIDGE TRAFFIC. VANESSA AND RAIN. CHANCES WILL BE INCREASING THIS WEEKEND. BREEZY WINDS WILL CONTINUE.
