A large brush fire temporarily closed both the 18-Mile Stretch and Card Sound Road into the Florida Keys on Tuesday, March 18.

A large brush fire led to both the 18-Mile Stretch and Card Sound Road being closed for hours on Tuesday, March 18, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Both roadways were closed after 6 p.m., although by 9 p.m., traffic was beginning to open slowly on the 18-Mile Stretch. Card Sound Road remains closed in both directions.
